Country Music Week - Part One (STAR WARS STYLE)

A long time ago, in someone's garage far, far away... Okay, it wasn't THAT long ago, but it was a fair three weeks ago (WHOOPS!).

Anyhow, I went to someone's garage as some of you know. Now, it wasn't an ordinary garage. No, no, it's called  The Tavern! I know what you're thinking, "Just because you gave it a name, doesn't make it THAT cool." But it is EXTREMELY cool. It's a place where countless country music performers go to do shows.

Now, if you've been there, you would see ALL of the autographs on The Tailgate (it's an ACTUAL tailgate from a 4x4), the signed pictures on the walls and ceiling, and all the Roughriders stuff. A whole corner was devoted to 'em! Anyway, on to that interview I promised! If it doesn't show up, click here.

It was absolutely FANTASTIC to get to talk to Codie Prevost and even MORE FANTASTIC that he took the time to answer my questions! I am SUPER sorry about all the background noise, but we WERE at a public place.

I learned a lot about Codie in our interview. Like, he likes LOVES to fish! He likes cooking, he'll put thing in the recipes that he's not supposed to, like he's experimenting with it! Codie is a really cool guy and I'd love to meet him again!

After my interview with Codie (thanks again man!) me and Dad went into the Tavern (the garage place), where we waited a few minutes for the show to start. It started with Bradley Tucker,  who decided what to sing by getting people (I was one of them!) to throw darts at a board. Thank goodness I had improved my aim or else, poor Bradley would of ended up with a dart in his leg. Or possibly his arm... Lets just say I am not too good at darts and leave it at that... ANYWAY, back to the blog. We threw darts at the board and he sang and played the song we landed on. After that, I got a picture with him and a singed poster!

Then Codie came and performed his songs with his AWESOME and colourful guitar. They were both great performers! Actually, they ARE great performers! Neither are dead or retired, so they ARE. Not were... After Codie's awesome performances, I went to get some souvenirs. I got signed CD's and a t-shirt (this time we remembered to pay). On they way home, we played his CD.

Well, come back soon (I hope) I will be doing another one sooner than this one! Until that time,

Country Music Week - Part Six (STAR WARS STYLE)

Hey! This is a recap of my LIVE CCMA Awards Tweets! I thought the CCMA Awards were REALLY cool! It was awesome that some of the people that I met won awards! It's kind of like your brother winning a soccer tournament, except none of them play soccer. Or are related to me. And it's not really a tournament. Okay it's NOTHING like that. I have to work on my comparisons...

That's them! Hope you enjoyed the awards as much as I did! This is the LAST thing that happened for CCMA week, so next time, look forward to my FIRST interview with a celebrity!!! Until we meet again,

Country Music Week - Part 4 (STAR WARS STYLE)

Hello everyone! First week of school was SO awesome! But (if you read the title you would know that) this post is not about school.

And just so you know, you have not missed anything. I'm going to do multiple posts, but I'm going to do them like the Star Wars saga. They won't be in order, but they'll still make sense. I promise.

So any way, recently I met Madeline Merlo, and she is SO AWESOME! She is a terrific songwriter and singer. She is also super passionate about the environment and animals.

She was at the London Drugs at the West Edmonton Mall promoting her new EP. The man helping her noticed my Country Music Week Media Pass and so I told him about my blog and that I started when I was eight and he said, "Whoa! That's really awesome! You know, Madeline really cares for all of the animals on Earth, so she would probably think your blog is super cool!"

He introduced me to Madeline, and I told her about my blog and gave her my card so she could check it out. (Yes that's right. I have business cards now!) She said, "It is so great that a kid your age could do something so huge like that! You know, you are going to change the world one day!" That really made me happy!

I told her I was going to do a blog sometime this week (and you're reading it). Anyway, after she signed a couple of autographs for me, I asked if we could do a video. Since her new single is called ALIVE, it gave me an idea. Here's the video we shot together.

And because it's such a great song, here's Alive;

Well, stay tuned, because more blogs are on the way! In the meantime...

Back to School

Well guys, tomorrow is the day I must return to the fortress of knowledge. Or more commonly known as, school. I am actually looking forward to it. I haven't seen ANY (okay I have seen one) of my friends. See, I live basically in the middle of nowhere, (just so you know, it's not Smallville) and practically all of my friends lives near... Actually, it would be more accurate if I said, they all live nowhere near me. So I've been pretty isolated. And lonely. And bored. So, it's pretty much the same as last year. And the year before that. And the year before that. Don't get me wrong, I love it out here. I don't want to move. So I'm just waiting for them to move here.

Anyway, we haven't gone to Boston Pizza yet, so I haven't tried pizza cake yet. And half way through the day, I forgot I was being southern. And, as we all know (or at least, I do) I couldn't finish all fifty books I had checked out. So, I couldn't finish my list. Oh well, I can try again next summer.

Alright, who knows what this is? I do.

Okay, if you read the URL, or ACTUALLY watch the show (which is Doctor Who, by the way) you would know it's the Doctor's TARDIS. It's a good show. See, I heard a lot about it from many different people (people being characters from books) so I decided to watch it. If you have never seen it, go watch it. Not right now of course, but once you're done reading this blog.

Anyway, back to the 'school' topic. This year, I'm going to have a different teacher for each subject. That is going to be different, but AWESOME because that would up my chances of being in my friends class, even if I don't have homeroom with them! I have a good feeling about this year.

Oh! I almost forgot! I am going to the CCMA Awards again this year! I can't wait!

Well, I'm pretty sure that covers it so, just remember to watch Doctor Who and

Book Review and My Top Ten Favourite Authors

I have just finished reading John Green's The Fault in Our Stars. It was an AWESOME book, but it also had a few sad things. Since I am in a public place, I tried my best not to cry my eyes out. I thought it was a beautifully written story, and I can't wait to see the movie. But first, I want to know a few things.

Thing one: What inspired John Green to start writing in the first place? He is a GREAT author and I thought it would be cool to know why he started writing and also why he wrote The Fault in Our Stars. I want to know what the cause was for this beautiful and sad story. Was it something that happened in his life? Was it just a thought he turned into words on paper for the world to read? I want to know his inspiration.

Thing two: Are the books An Imperial Affliction and  The Prince of Dawn real books? If so, then I want to read them.

Thing three: I want to know if the video game and e-mail reader things Issac has is real. Not that I'm blind and need it, I just thought it would be cool to know if they were real. That would be a funny, and cool thing to have.

I think John Green is up with my Top Ten Favorite writers now. Just so you know, here is a list of my favorite authors:

NUMBER 10: John Green. Since I have only read one of his books, his place is still yet to be determined.

NUMBER 9: Rachel Renee Russell. I absolutely ADORE her Dork Diaries. They are really great.

NUMBER 8: Hidenori Kusaka. The author of POKEMON ADVENTURES (art by Satoshi Yamamoto) is one of my FAVORITE graphic novel series'.

NUMBER 7: J.R.R. Tolkien. Author of The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit. I really enjoyed the Hobbit book and movies. Can't wait for the last one!

NUMBER 6: Roald Dahl. Author of James and The Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, and a lot more! I really enjoyed all these books and movies.

NUMBER 5: Marty Chan. The author of a bunch of my favourite books such as his mystery books (based off of his life experiences as a kid), Barnabas Bigfoot the Bigfoot with small feet, and so many more. Thanks for all the great stories, Marty!

NUMBER 4: J.K. Rowling. She wrote her Harry Potter series and got me into the wizarding world. After reading her books, I wanted to be a wizard like Harry and Ron.

NUMBER 3: Tom Angleberger. His Origami Yoda Chronicles got me into origami, the ancient art of folded paper. Thanks Tom!

NUMBER 2: Rick Riorden. The author of many mythology fiction (or maybe they're non-fiction?) books. He is the man who got me to like Greek mythology with his Percy Jackson series.

NUMBER 1: James Patterson. He writes all different types of books from stuff like I Funny to Maximum Ride (one of my favorite books). James Patterson is my all-time favourite author.

There you have it! My favourite authors! I recommend all books by them! Go ahead and read people! Remember, I'd like feedback on how to do these better and I'd like to hear what you think of these authors! Thanks for reading and until next time,
